FOUR FANTASY PICKUPS-WEEK #5
1) ISAAC REDMAN-RB-Steelers- With Rashard Mendenhall tending to his hamstring injury this week, he will probably be questionable this Sunday vs the Titans. Redman becomes an instant grab whether ‘Chard plays or not as his carries will be limited. Just be cautious as Tennessee has been more than serviceable against the run yielding just over 3 yards per carry to their opponents. Several top RB’s are on a ‘bye’ this week so Redman can help you fill that void.
2) JACOBY JONES/KEVIN WALTER-WR’s-Texans- The Houston Chronicle is reporting that Andre Johnson will miss up to three weeks after he undergoes a proceedure to help prevent scar tissue from forming and speed up the recovery of his sore hammy. Enter Jones & Walter. Either one could be a decent flex play this week although Owen Daniels will become the main go-to guy.
3) JARED COOK-TE-Titans- Cook, who was highly touted before the season began, broke out for 93 yards and a TD against the Browns last week. Matt Hasselbeck, even without the services of Kenny Britt, passed for 220 yards and three touchdowns last week and will be relying more on the pass again vs the seemingly aging Steelers. Chris Johnson did rush for the century mark last week, finally, but Cook will help balance the Titan’s attack.
4) STEVAN RIDLEY-RB-Patriots- The tandem of BenJarvus Green-Ellis and Stevan Ridley showed it’s potential last week against the Raiders, combining for a total of 172 yards rushing and two touchdowns. Ridley averaged just under 10 yards per carry and although that will not be attainable every week, he will be a good bye week fill-in for those looking for help at RB.
