With just three more weeks before the playoffs begin in Fantasy Basketball Leagues, we thought we would throw in some more Waiver Wire Pickups in honor of the extra day in February…
1. Josh Howard-SG/SF-Jazz- It has been a while but once again, Howard has become fantasy relevant. He has started the last three games for the Jazz and has put up pretty serviceable numbers. The former 1st round pick in 2003 of the Mavs averaged 15.3 points, 6.7 rebounds, 1.3 steals, on 54.2 % shooting from the field. He’s been playing almost 30 minutes a game and should be a must add in most leagues as long as the oft injured star is healthy. He’s only owned in 10% of most leagues and temporarily remains a well-kept secret amongst most fantasy leagues.

2. Brendan Hayward-C-Mavs- Although Hayward has averaged just 22 minutes a game for the season, he’s been on the floor for close to 30 minutes in each of his last two games. His averages at 11 points, 10.5 boards, 1.5 steals, and 2.0 blocks is proving that the extra minutes are well warranted. Owned in only 20% of Yahoo! leagues, Hayward is a formidable pickup in 12 team leagues and a ‘watch’ in smaller ones.
3. Danny Green-SG/SF-Spurs- For the streamers out there, Green would be someone to consider for the short term. With Kawhi Leonard (calf) and Gary Neal (hamstring) out and/or questionable over the next several games, Green becomes the perfect fill-in scoring 16 points in each of his last 2 games with 5.5 rebounds. He’ll also get you some steals… Available in 90% of most leagues deploy him until the Spurs are back at full strength.
PLAYERS TO WATCH:
JJ Barea-PG-Timberwolves- Last 2 games: 14.0 points, 3.5 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 2.5 threes. Averaged 24 MPG.
Mike Dunleavy-SG/SF-Bucks- Last 2 games: 15.0 points 2.0 steals, and 2.5 threes. Averaged 25:30 MPG.
Steve Novak-SF/PF-Knicks- Last 2 games: 14.5 points, 1.0 steal, and 4.5 threes. Averaged 20:30 MPG. Leads the league in 3-point percentage at 45.7%.
All three of these players which should be kept on your radar, are only owned in 10-12% of most leagues so they are widely available to use as needed.
