After the Thanksgiving Night’s debacle, coach Rex Ryan was asked if he expects to be back next season. “I do”, he said. “And I think our team will play a heckuva lot better, and I don’t think that anybody will ask that question by the time the year’s over.” Eh, Rex, you just got through being humiliated by one of your divisional rivals in front of 40 million people in a 49-19 blowout. You have lost 4 out of your last 5 games and are 2-6 over your last 8. In your last four games you have been outscored 120-62! We don’t know what you’re smoking, but put that drumstick down before you hurt yourself!
After watching three quarters of Thursday’s game, one fan wondered, “Who would have thought the New York Jets would be NBC’s best comedy show this year?”

#6 QB Mark Sanchez ended up running into guard Brandon Moore’s rear end on a busted play in the Thanksgiving Night Massacre at Met Life Stadium. nypost.com
For those of you who wondered why the Jets didn’t opt to bring in their “secret weapon” Tim Tebow during the fiasco, it was because he had sustained a multiple rib injury in Week #10’s 28-7 defeat in Seattle. ” I was only going to play him Tim if we absolutely had to have him”, said Ryan. So I guess if the Patriots would have run up the score to say, 72 19 then Rex would have called Tebow’s number…
Thursday’s game just epitomized the kind of season that Gang Green has had. Giving up 21 points in a span of just 52 seconds in the 2nd quarter sums up the despair and ineptitude that are these N.Y. Jets this season. They have been an over-rated and basically untalented bunch of players who are mainly the responsibility of the two people who need to exit the organization at seasons’ end; GM Mike Tannenbaum and Coach Rex Ryan. One, simply put, cannot and should not be fired without the other. But make no mistake, they both need to go!
Watching these Jets all season has made it appear as if Rich Kotite has been resurrected and is now strolling the sidelines. Tony Sparano and his Wildcat schemes have been a total bust. In four games this year, the Jets have failed to score more than 10 points with 10 vs Pittsburgh, 0 vs the 49ers, 9 vs the Dolphins, and 7 vs the Seahawks. His hiring, like the signing of Tim Tebow, has done nothing to better this team, and when Ryan goes, so should Sparano!
And lastly, the fan base, has thrown its collective hands up in the air. During the game last night at Met Life Stadium in the third quarter, a Waste Management Ad told the fans to “save their money for Jets playoff tickets.” Our intuition tells us that whatever money the fans had put aside for postseason tickets will now be spent on Black Friday sales instead!
The N.Y. Jets right now, along with several other teams, are the poster boys for a lack of parody in the NFL at the moment. They have scored 62 points over their last four games while the Patriots put up 108 in their last two and did it over a four day span! Last night’s one-sided victory gave Bill Belichick his 200th career coaching victory , one we’re sure the Jets and their fans will not soon forget…
