  1. Thanks for the advice. I’m going to snatch up Doolittle after reading what you had to say. My 14 team league just replaced “saves” with “saves + holds” so I’m looking for guys who may fly under the radar early. All of the closers and top holds guys who can strike anyone out are gone, so Doolittle will be an ideal backup to Jansen and Pestano. Many thanks.

    • Yes. David Hernandez on the Diamondbacks is a favorite of ours for Holds & K’s. In the last two seasons he has 48 holds and 175 K’s! Grab him IF he’s avail. although in a 14 player league he’s probably gone.
Jared Burton is another sleeper that closed effectively last year when Matt Capps got hurt and will give you holds & Ks. Others include Joaquin Benoit, Tyler Clippard ( a great handcuff with closer experience), and Steve Delabar who had 92 K’s last year with Seattle & Toronto along with a 12.5K/9 rate.

Hope some of these are available to you. Let me know if you still need some help here..

  2. Nice trio of RPs there. I really hope he performs well for you AJ. Don’t get impatient too early if the numbers aren’t there… The Ks will be there and if Balfour stumbles, he should fit right in to the closer’s spot and handle it well. Good luck this season!!
