Nobody is hotter from downtown since the All-Star break than Steve Novak of the N.Y. Knicks! He has hit 30 3-pointers since returning from the break; 7 more in one less game than the 3-point leader this season, Ryan Anderson of the Magic, who plays twice the minutes! In fact, not only has Novak qualified for our ‘BEST STAT’ feature, but he has been a stat machine for most of the season.

Consider some of the other amazing stats that the 2nd round pick of the Houston Rockets in the 2006 draft has accomplished so far this season: He is currently shooting the third highest percentage in 3-pointers in the league. Ryan Anderson leads the league in 3-pointers made with 122. Steve Novak has 78 but has played half the minutes of Anderson.
In his last two games, Novak has made 10 of 18 3-pointers for a 55.5% average. In his last 12 games, he has shot 50% or better from beyond the arc in 9 of them for a 3.4 per game average. He has only averaged just under 17 minutes per game this year but is on pace to finish the season with 140 threes. If he would have played the same minutes as Ryan Anderson, he would finish the season with close to 250 threes!! And if other teams seems to be hurting by his pin-point shooting, rest assured that the Knicks are feeling no pain since they’re the ones with the Novakaine!
*For all those about to enter the fantasy basketball playoffs a week from Monday, keep in mind that if your team is lacking in 3’s Novak is available in 75% of most leagues.
If the Knicks get Novak open shots, they will be dangerous.

The game was very sloppy for both teams – the Knicks’ bench won the game.
By the way, the Fieldhouse in Indy is a great place to catch a basketball game. I’ll definitely be going back.
