The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly
*Today we’re listing them in reverse order
THE UGLY-
TITANS over the BROWNS- We’ve bashed the Browns all season and then cut them some slack vs the Titans and they made us pay! They play their first team with a winning record and all Hasselbeck does is throw three touchdown passes in the first half and go on to demolish the Browns 31-13. Chris Johnson ran for a season high 101 yards (he had 98 total rushing yards in the prior three games comined!) No Kenny Britt? No problem, as the receivers collected three TD’s on 220 yards. They made Hasselbeck look like a Hall of Famer yesterday. We guarantee it willl be quite some time before we pick the hapless, hopeless Browns again…
THE BAD-
BENGALS over the BILLS- The Bills, our pick, were up 20-13 just after the start of the fourth quarter. They ended up losing the game on a 43 yard Mike Nugent field goal just as time expired. Cedric Benson, his three game suspension looming, rushed for 109 yards on 19 carries. Fred Jackson’s anemic 66 yards rushing after averaging just over 100 in the first 3 games wasn’t enough. Nor was Stevie Johnson’s 4 receptions totalling 57 yards. We did say that it was possible that the Bills might have a setback after their stunning victory over the Pats the week before- and it looks like they did.
THE GOOD-
LIONS over the Cowboys- We picked the Lions in this one saying, “this is a tough one to choose”and it sure was. It took 31 second half points for the Lions to escape from Dallas with their fourth straight victory to get them to a 4-0 mark on the season. We said they were good on the road (now 3 of their 4 wins have come away from home), and that they had too many weapons plus Calvin Johnson vs a depleted Dallas secondary and that’s exactly what happened. The perrenial pro-bowler had 96 yards and 2 touchdowns, and yes, we’re gloating…
