*home teams in CAPS
Texans over DOLPHINS- There’s two reasons why we don’t like the Fish this week: The first is the long anticipated return of Arian Foster to the gridiron-Even if he’s out there for just 10-15 snaps, his presence and talent will give Houston an edge. The second, and most compelling, is that the Dolphins have played 11 home games since December 2009…and have lost 10 of ’em!
Buccaneers over VIKINGS- Donovan McNabb’s seven completions last week vs the Chargers will not be enough this week. The Bucs are a good ‘travelling’ team and although, along with Adrian Peterson, the matchup for the Vikes vs the Bucs rush defense is favorable, we don’t see Minny lighting it up this week.
Packers over PANTHERS- This could be the easiest pick of the week! We expect Cam Newton to have his bell rung Sunday- unlike last week when the rookie stud set record breaking numbers. Panther linebackers will not be able to stop Aaron Rodgers who should have a career day especially with linebacker Jon Benson out for the year.
REDSKINS over Cardinals- We weren’t surprised that the ‘Skins beat a depleted, injury ridden Giants squad last week. We did however, see Washington play harder and smarter than the Giants. Arizona showed very little defense by letting Cam throw for over 400 yards at their house last week. It won’t get easier on the road.
Cowboys over S.F. 49ers- Hard to believe the way in which Tony Romo imploded last week vs the Jets, (there’s been so many implosions in his career…) However, admittedly, it will be even harder to imagine the ‘Boys going 0-2! Felix Jones should have a much better game than his 44 rushing yards vs a cohesive Jets defense. The 49ers gained a meager 209 yards of total offense last week and that kind of performance won’t get it done against the hungry Cowboys.
